Worth the money? Anastasia Go Brow from Sephora

About a year ago I purchased a set of Anastasia Brow products from Sephora for $75. I didn't realize at the time how expensive it was because it was in the wrong section on the shelf and when I got home I had a minor panic attack. I decided it was still worth a shot because I had heard such good things about the brand, and thank goodness I did!  This new set is in the Beauty To Go section at Sephora for $16. I grabbed it last minute the other day because I know from experience her products are great quality.        This set includes a mini Brow Gel, a small pair of tweezers, and the brow pencil in Brunette. Online they offer brunette and medium brown, in my Sephora they only had brunette. If you've never tried Anastasia it is definitely worth a shot, and when I saw this set it was worth the money just for the brow gel.          The original set I purchased came with the brow powder and since then I have only used powder for my brows, but this recent purchase gave me th

First Impression and Review! Clean and Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer

I'm so excited to tell you guys about this product! Hopefully just by that first sentence you can tell that I've found a new love.  One of the first things you notice about a new product is the smell, and this is a winner. The smell alone would make me repurchase. Like all of the Morning Burst products from Clean and Clear the smell is really the catch. The whole idea is the "wake you up scent" and the bursting beads, an this moisturizer is no different. The smell is great.  Another perk for me is that it's oil free. For someone with extremely oily skin, it's really hard to find a good moisturizer that doesn't leave my face completely slippery. (On a side note, a lot of people think people with oily skin don't need moisturizer, but that's not true. Our skin still needs the moisture, but we shouldn't use one that is overpowering with oils.) i can say it really does stand by its word in being oil-free. The product is smooth to apply but i

July Beauty Favorites

Long time no talk guys! I'm so sorry I've been a little MIA this month, but I have been busy!!! I went on vacation with my family this month, and as soon as we got home my boyfriends family came in to town for a long weekend, so I've had a house full! As stressful as it could have been, but also quite a lot of fun, I didn't really have much time to try new things or really experiment with any new products. I also had a two year old, who really enjoyed watching me "Paint my eyeballs!", so my makeup was quite minimum. Also, to top it all off, I had a sunburn from hell! No amount of sunscreen helped my fair skin. Through all of the chaos this month, I still have a few products that stuck by my side.          First is my set of Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange items. I bought this at Target on sale in June and I've had all of the items in my purse ever since. This scent is breathtaking. It's wonderful for summer and it's great for on the go. The lotion was

What's in my travel makeup bag?

After many months, my long awaited vacation is finally here. I don't get much vacation time from work and money is a little right, but every year my whole family takes a trip to my Grandparents lake house. This year, I get to spend 4 days with the family and I'm very excited, it's been a long time coming.  I just recently watched a video from Makeupbytiffanyd, and she was packing for New York. She mentioned that the morning of or before her trip she puts on a full face of makeup and brings everything she used so that nothing you would need is forgotten. I then thought to myself, 'What a genius idea.' And that's exactly what I did for this trip.            First was my moisturizer and primer. I ran out of my Jergens Daily Faial moisturizer so I've been using my Clean and Clear Moisturizer which does the job, but it's definitely not my favorite. I'm also running a little low on my Benefit Pore Fessional, so just in case I ran out, I also brought my Lan

BATTLE! Ipsy vs. Birchbox

Once again, when I received my boxes I was excited to see which one would win!  Surprisingly, I received Ipsy first, last month it took forever to arrive! I had seen a small sneak peak and I wasn't too excited for this.        The makeup bag this month was a winner! I'm a sucker for see through bags. I feel like I get so much more use out of my products because I can see what's in there.        The rosy product that caught my eye was a deluxe sample of Big Sexy Hair Weather Proof Hairspray. My first thought was , "What? I don't need big sexy hair? Didn't they read my profile?" Especially since the other item was Healthy Sexy Hair Beach Waves Spray, which I would definitely get more use out of. After my initial shock, I realized I will use this product, but I would have preferred the other item.       Next was the Benefit box, I always get excited about Benefit. Unfortunately, I do already have this product. I do really enjoy this product, it is just one of

Review! St. Tropez Instant Body Glow Lotion

I received a sample of St. Tropez Instant Glow Body Lotion in my Ipsy bag a few months ago, and I was so excited to give it a try. For someone like me who is pale (I'm Irish, what can I say?) tanning is pretty much impossible. I turn red and then it's gone, no pigment is left behind. Self tanners are also very difficult because they're usually either too orange or look very muddy.  Unfortunately, this product is no different. I tried applying this product a few different ways, and every time this product came out streaky. I only tried this product on my legs, which is a difficult spot anyways, but I just couldn't get this product to come out even.  After this product was applied, my skin looked muddy! There's really no other explanation for it. My co-worker even commented that it looked like I rolled in mud, and that's never a good thing.  Overall, I believe this product is targeted for someone with a little darker skin tone. I don't believe t

How I wash my makeup brushes?

This is a dirty job, but someone has to do it! Washing your makeup brushes is one of the most important things to do for many reasons, and there are plenty of different methods of doing this. Here's my process! I start out with a plate, Dawn Antibacterial Soap, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I used to use Baby Shampoo, but I realized the Antibacterial Soap is more sanitary (the baby shampoo is not antibacterial), although both products do get the job done for cleaning purposes. I place a small amount of each liquid on the plate and go from there. I personally do not wet my brush before placing it into the liquid (this is just me, you can do either method that you prefer). I then swirl the brush into the two liquids while making small circles on the plate. As you can see, the products in your brush start to come. I then add some water to the bristles of the brushes. Side note, the most important thing to remember when washing makeup brushes is that you do not want water goi

Sleek Makeup Review - Blush

I have always been very curious to try Sleek Makeup, but since this brand is not sold in the States and the shipping price was outrageous I never got around to it. I recently saw that the shipping caused as taken a dramatic decrease and I jumped on the chance. These products are priced fairly cheap. In the UK, this would be considered a drugstore brand, but since it's not accessible in the US, I would consider it more of a luxury. I did not go crazy, because as we all probably know I do not need much more makeup, but can a woman ever have enough blush?! Don't answer that! These blushes cost $5.99 each, and together the shipping was $2.76, for that price they were definitely worth a try. (Pixie Pink) I don't think I'm the only, but who really knows, when I'm trying something new I always go for pinks, I feel like you really can't go wrong. Luckily for me, in this case, I wasn't wrong. This color is beautiful. In the package, it looks as if it's a

FACE OF THE DAY

As you might have seen in a post about two weeks ago, I enjoy doing a face of the day post every once in a while. I have posted quite a few photos on Instagram and people seem to enjoy them. Usually, on a weekly basis I like to change up my face makeup and try something new, although, I've made it a point to wear different blush everyday! People have really seemed to enjoy these post on other social networks, so I would like to give an update about once a week on my face of the day. Let me know if you're interested! First, I always start off with a moisturizer and primer. Both of the items pictured above were mentioned in my June Favorites post (you can check that out here if interested ) The Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream and Benefit Pore Fessional. I realized over this last month, the Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream really isn't working for me in the mornings. This product is a little more oily, and I prefer to use it at night, lesson learned. Benefit Pore Fe

June Beauty Empties and Mini Reviews

As you can probably see from the picture above, I was really into trying out my samples this month. I have a huge box full of beauty samples that I have gotten from making online orders, Birchbox, Ipsy, and Sephora. I'm bad about just tossing them in my sample box and never looking back. I realized I have some pretty good stuff in there, I just need to make an effort, so that's what I did. First is my Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer (the only one I did not take a separate picture of, sorry). I purchased this last summer and did not get much use out of it. This summer when it started getting warmer I knew I wasn't going to get much sun, so I decided to give it another shot. I love this product! It does not do much as a self tanner. It might give you a slight amount of color, but nothing noticeable. Although, as a moisturizer this stuff is amazing! It's the perfect formula to use in the mornings before applying your makeup, because it sinks into the skin and doe
