What did I bring with me for my getaway weekend?

This was my getaway where I could really bring anything I wanted! My boyfriend and I came to spend 4 days with his family and I knew I might just want to get dressed up, but I didn't have to! Those are the best!  I went into packing these items hoping that I could add some items to my Project 10 Pan, but unfortunately I was a little rushed while packing, so I did grab a lot of my every day items.  One note is that I was going to be an hour away from the beach in a very humid area so I definitely kept that in mind while grabbing items. I'm not going to go into any reasons why I grabbed things, but here is a list of the items I needed for my long weekend!              Welcome to my Heaven!  -ELF Lip Exfoliator FACE -Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer -MAC Pro Longwear Concealer -Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream and CC Cream -Maybeline Shine Free Fit Me Stick Foundation  POWDER AND CHEEK -Sonia Kashuk Cream Bronzer  -MAC Soft Sand Bronzer -MAC Superb Highlighter -Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

Review: Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub

(Image was taken from Google) I received a sample of this in my Ipsy bag for August and I was so excited! I had heard a lot of good things about this product, and I was contemplating buying a full size. It was perfect timing, I couldn't wait to give it a try.  I have been using it about every other day for two weeks now, and on the odd days I go for my usual Philosophy Purity with my Clarisonic. The smell was, of course, the first thing I noticed about this and it was very pleasant, but not too over powering. I can't even begin to describe it, but it is a nice scent (don't let me kill you with my wonderful description). I then squirted about a dime size amount on to my fingers and was shocked! I knew it said charcoal, but the black substance was still a little shocking. Of course, being the crazy person I am, I couldn't wait to apply it. I decided just to use my hands and that has worked out best for me.  Almost immediately after removing the product my

My Project 10 Pan

Now as we all probably know I have a lot of makeup, and too be honest I'll probably never have enough in my opinion. There's just always something new and interesting coming out, that in my mind, "I must try that!" That probably isn't true, but like I tell my boyfriend, "it's better then drugs right." In my effort to try and "cut back" an to keep from buying unnecessary items, I'm going to do my version of a "Project 10 Pan". I haven't heard of anyone doing this in quite a while, when I first got interested in the beauty community it was pretty popular. For that reason, I'm going to do my own version.  My idea is that I'm only going to count products that I won't be repurchasing. If there is an item that is a staple for me, it is likely that I will use it up. I want to do this as an opportunity for me to use products I don't always grab for. Of course, the item itself will meed to be repurchased, but if the

The Nude Tude Palette by the Balm

As I spoke about in my previous post, I placed an order from the Balm from Hautelook. I have not tried many products from the brand, but I have always heard good things. I decided to take the opportunity and purchase this palette for 1/2 price.  At first glance, the packaging is beautiful. Most brands go for the sleek professional style of packaging, and I love that the Balm products are more "cartooning" and fun. I received the "naughty" version of the palette and it's much cuter.  The quality of the eyeshadows themselves is quite good. The pigmentation is very impressive and they are very soft to the touch. This palette includes 12 colors, which I think is a good number. It gives you a good range of colors, and it makes you feel like your money was worth it.            (Top to bottom: Sassy, Stubborn, Selfish,             Sophisticated, Sexy, Serious) The top row (pictured above) ranges from light to dark. The first two shades (Sassy and Stubborn) are very lig

My Hautelook Experience!

I have heard people talk about Hautelook for years now, and I have just never gotten around to ordering anything. I've had the app a few times and just end up deleting it, it was kin of forgotten among everything else in my phone.  Finally, I started paying attention to upcoming events. Beauty events in particular, of course. On August 1st, the Balm was one of the events for the day. I got excited because I love this brand, but it isn't readily available where I live, unless you order online. I decided if I'm going to order online, I might as well use the Hautelook discount!  I ordered two items and paid immediately. I believe shipping was about $6, which is pretty much the same on any website unless they offer free shipping.  Ok, so now to the part that bothers me, as of August 1st, I spend $45 for my products. Immediately, I was given an estimated delivery of August 19-23, I thought that was kind of outrageous, but who am I to complain? I put the facts out of mind and wen

BATTLE! Ipsy vs. Birchbox August

Another month has come of subscription boxes! I have to say, I have really been thinking about canceling. I know it's not much, but $20 a month can buy one product that I want, instead of 10 samples I'll never use. With that said, this months boxes might have changed my mind.  First is Birchbox. I didn't receive a confirmation email this month so when it arrived I was surprised.  First was an eyeliner by Mally in the shade Sailor.       The shade is a very dark navy that looks almost black. It really is a beautiful color. I have never tried Mally products, but this seems like a good product to start with. You can always use an eyeliner, so I feel like it will get use.             Next is Miss Jessie's Super Slip Sudsy Shampoo. I can't say much about this because I haven't tried it, but the other products I've used from this brand have been great. They smell amazing, but for the price, I don't think I'll ever invest in the full size.            Oasis

What is in makeup bag? (Work Purse Edition)

As I've said quite a few times (you're probably tired of hearing it by now) I work in an office. So for me, a touch up makeup bag is a necessity. One, because it's possible for me to do touch ups during the day, and two, my coworkers know I love makeup, so they aren't afraid to tell me if something is looking crazy. Every month I trade out my purse makeup bag and use the bag that  I think every girl has their own "must haves" in their purse makeup bag, and mine might be a little different from your choices. To each their own, but you might want to make sure you got everything you need, so here we go.          First and definitely the number one for me, my oil blotting sheets. My skin is oily! I can't hide it. Right now in trying out the Up and Up Brand (Target brand) ones and comparing them to the Clean and Clear version. So far so good.  And just in case those aren't enough, my tried and true, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. Cheap and easy, that's the w

Top 5 MAC Blushes

I think it is safe to say, MAC Blushes are by far my favorite MAC product I've tried. Probably not too surprising, I own quite a few, whoops! I decided to sift through and pick out my must used and share with you guys. I tried to pick a color for every season, but in all honesty, I use them all pretty much year round.         Coygirl is my go to fall and winter shade. Coygirl. I decided to mention this one first since fall is coming up fast.  This shade is a light plum that I feel can really go with any skin tone as long as it is applied with a light hand. I prefer this shade in the fall winter because you can get away with darker/warmer colors.         Next is Fleur Power. I believe I bought this blush because of a suggestion made by Amarixe, a YouTube Beauty Guru and I'm glad I did.  This color is dark toned pink that will also go with any skin tone. It doesn't look like anything special in the pan, but on the skin it works wonders. The color is really versatile and can g

Face of the day!

Now let me start off by saying it is hot today! We have actually had a mild summer were I live, but the humidity is killer! So, I had to take the weather into strong consideration today while making my makeup choices.  I'm going to go in order of how I apply things, I feel like that might give you a little more information on these types of posts. So first things first I used my new Smashbox CC Cream in the shade light. I'm still giving this product a go before I give it a full review, but so far so good.  My two concealer must haves are Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer for under the eyes and MAC Pro Longwear concealer in NC20 for any other blemishes. I love both of these two together. There is no creasing and it stays all day.  Next is my Sonia Kashuk Cream Bronzer which you've probably heard me talk about a few times. I use this product before powder for two reasons, first in case you use a little too much it's easy to cover it up with your powder, and also you never wan
