June Beauty Favorites

I know you probably hear this all of the time, but June flew by! That's probably because I have a vacation coming up at the end of July that I'm trying to save money for, and time is flying! This month I didn't really experiment much with my normal day to day face makeup. I just wasn't feeling adventurous, and to top that off it's over 100 degrees where I live most days, and the humidity is outrageous! So...when I find something that's working and not making me look like an oily mess, I try to stick to that for a while and hope for the best during my long days. Now, speaking of not being an oily mess, I have found my holy grail setting powder. I don't know why it took me so long to give this product a try. Especially considering it's $3! The Rimmel Stay Matte Powder is absolutely wonderful. I have never tried anything that compares to this powder. I was a firm believer in MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural, and this is better! On the packaging, this

MAC Eyeshadow Collection and Swatches

Over the last 5 years of being very interested in makeup, I have accumulated quite a few MAC eyeshadows. I have found that these are some of the best and most pigmented high end eyeshadows available (Urban Decay is a very close second, maybe even tied). Another plus for this brand is the options and variety you have in your choice of colors. As I've said before and I'm sure you can tell from the picture above, I still prefer neutrals, but MAC gives me a very large selection of neutrals to choose from. As everyone probably already knows MAC offers 4 different sized "Pro Palettes", 2, 4, 15, and a double sided large palette which can hold 30 eyeshadows. If you're interested in seeing the options MAC Cosmetics offers you, you can go here, The website and Pro Stores also offer different methods of purchasing the single eyeshadows. At MAC counters, you can purchase the eyeshadows separately in what I would call "pot" form. These come with the case that y

REVIEW! Jouer Matte Moisture Tint

I am so excited to talk about this product! Probably because I waited quite some time to justify purchasing it, but now that I have I'm excited to share my opinion! I had never heard of Jouer cosmetics until recently. Missglamorazzi, or Ingrid from the YouTube beauty community talked about this tinted moisturizer in one of her recent beauty favorites (recent, that was in like March, but who's counting). I immediately looked up this product, because if anyone has oily skin, it's me, and living in a state where it is over 100 degrees in the summer with 90% humidity, I needed something a little more withstanding for the upcoming summer months. It took me about two months to find a good deal and finally justify buying this product. I purchased mine off of eBay for $27.99, retail price is $38 (I would not recommend searching eBay for a lot of beauty products, a lot of sellers can be selling fake products, or even worse used products). I had previously purchased from this sell

BATTLE! Ipsy vs. Birchbox

Every month when my Ipsy and Birchbox come in the mail I always get excited to see which one wins! In case you aren't aware, Ipsy and Birchbox are both monthly subscription boxes, each cost $10 a month. When you sign up for the subscriptions you take a quick little questionnaire about yourself (ex. hair color, eye color, which products you prefer to use the most). Based off of the answers you give, every month they will ship you a box, or makeup bag for Ipsy, each with 4-6 makeup, skincare, or hair products for testing. In my mind $10, that's not even a meal for one person in my major city, so you're really not losing much. The first box I received this month was Ipsy, the theme "On the Wild Side". I was really excited about this one, because I had seen other people showing their products and the makeup bag was extremely cute. If you are interested in signing up for the monthly subscription go here . Inside, we received, one lip liner from Starlooks in th

REVIEW! Sonia Kashuk Undectable Cream Bronzer

I have had my eye on Chanel's Soleil Tan De Chanel for quite some time, I just could not justify buying this product when I wasn't sure how much use I'd get out of it. At a whopping $48 it really seemed like a big investment if it was just going to sit my drawer to look pretty. I go to Target pretty much every day, and I just so happened to stumble upon the Sonia Kashuk Cream Bronzer. I had heard one of the YouTube beauty gurus compare this item to the Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel, but I had yet to find it in the store. It was always sold out! One particular day the item was in stock and I jumped at my opportunity (of course have a $2 off coupon gave me a little more incentive). This item retails for $10.99. I rarely see Sonia Kashuk items on sale, other than the limited editions brush sets. Although, $10.99 seemed much more doable than $48 for something I was not even sure was going to work with my skin tone. I love the packaging of this product, it's very sleek

FACE OF THE DAY

As I talked about in my previous post, I do have a full time job which is an office job. This means that I can't get too crazy with my makeup each day. Although, even on my off days I'm still a neutrals kind of girl. For my foundation, my all time holy grail product, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation in B20. I do have fairly oily skin, but this foundation still works wonders for me. This foundation is usually targeted for dry to normal skin, but this still does a wonderful job for my skin type. This is not a full coverage foundation, but with a setting powder and a little under eye concealer, it is one of my all time favorites for day to day. My favorite concealer at the moment, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in number 2 Vanilla. This concealer is completely worth the hype. I mostly use this as an under eye concealer and it does not settle in any fine lines and it stays put all day! My bronzer is from the new MAC Temperature Rising Collection in color Soft Sand. I previo

Nice to meet you!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to give you guys a little information about me before we get started. My name is Kady, and I'm one of those people with a career in a field that is not my passion. Now don't get me wrong, I love my job, and it definitely pays the bills, but since high school, when I took Cosmetology for three years, my passion has always been makeup. Unfortunately, the economy was not on my side when it was time for me to make my career decisions. I decided to play it safe and get a job in the field I knew was not going to take a nose dive. Luckily, my career choice gave me the opportunity to start a great life for myself. I have a home, a car, and a little spare money to enjoy my true passion, which is makeup! This blog is for me to be able to get out my thoughts on those new products that are being released so often, and also share the information that I have and my opinions for a none who is interested. Thank you guys so much for checking me out! L
