REVIEW! Jouer Matte Moisture Tint

I am so excited to talk about this product! Probably because I waited quite some time to justify purchasing it, but now that I have I'm excited to share my opinion! I had never heard of Jouer cosmetics until recently. Missglamorazzi, or Ingrid from the YouTube beauty community talked about this tinted moisturizer in one of her recent beauty favorites (recent, that was in like March, but who's counting). I immediately looked up this product, because if anyone has oily skin, it's me, and living in a state where it is over 100 degrees in the summer with 90% humidity, I needed something a little more withstanding for the upcoming summer months.

It took me about two months to find a good deal and finally justify buying this product. I purchased mine off of eBay for $27.99, retail price is $38 (I would not recommend searching eBay for a lot of beauty products, a lot of sellers can be selling fake products, or even worse used products). I had previously purchased from this seller and I did trust their products so I took a stab at it. Luckily, my product was brand new and still factory sealer. Now after a long awaited arrival I was ready to begin testing it out, just in time for the summer months!

I am in the shade Porcelain, the lightest shade. There are four other shade choices to choose from, linen, nude, chamomile, and hazel. Thankfully, Porcelain was a perfect match for me, before any sort of tan, I could probably move up to the second shade now that it is summer!

As you can see in the picture above, the consistency of the product is thicker than a normal tinted moisturizer. When applying this moisturizer you will notice you get about a medium coverage, which is more than most tinted moisturizers will offer. When using this product I always use a tinted setting powder, which makes this item almost full coverage. The setting powder gives it the final layer or cover which will get me through a long day.

On average, I work a 10-12 hour day about 5 days a week, over time I've learned very few products can last that long even with a few touchups throughout the day, and unfortunately, this moisturizer is one of them. After about 8 hours this product seems to look a little cakey around my nose and cheek areas. I do have very oily skin, so not many products will survive the long trek of my Monday-Friday activities. I have found a few that do the job the best and as disappointed I am to say this, the Matte Moisture Tint did not take the cake.

With all of this said, this product is a great product! It feels great on the skin and it does look very nice and do a good job with coverage. Overall, I do believe it keeps my skin a little more matte than a few other items, but it does not keep my skin matte through the whole day. This product is wonderful for me on my weekends day, the days where I want to wear makeup, but I know it will be for a few activities, and not running around at work for hours and hours.

So the answer is yes, I would recommend this product. If you are looking for a tinted moisturizer and not a foundation this is probably the product for you! We just have to remember this is a tinted moisturizer and is not made to replace your foundation all together. If you are interested in purchasing this item it is available here

Thank you guys so much for reading!

(Please note, this is just my opinion. This is my review on this item for my skin type. I have not tested this item out on other skin types.)

Blogtober Day 24! DIY Remove Black Stains from Hardwood Floors

This blog is coming to you by accident, of course. I don't know if I've mentioned it much on this blog, but I have two pitbulls. I know, a lot to handle, and one of them is a puppy. She is horrible sometimes, but I can't help but love her. Our whole house is hardwood floors, which I love! With my two dogs, if the happen to have an accident it's really easy to clean up...or so I thought.  We have had a large living room rug down for about 6 months now. Over the weekend we decided to take it outside and air it out and do a little "Fall Cleaning". Low and behold underneath the rug were huge dark black spots on the hardwood. I immediately jumped on Pinterest to see what to do. It turns out dogs urine causes the wood to turn black (who knew?). So I found a solution that I'm really excited to share with you.  Peroxide! Awesome, I had plenty on hand and immediately started to try it out. At first I used a paint brush to apply it to the specific areas.  Almo

Personal Planner Setup

I have been using a planner for as long as I can remember. My little OCD self needs something to keep me grounded and on track. About 3 years ago I discovered Erin Condren as well as the planner community on social media (if you are a planner person check them out, it is such a positive and supportive group of people). If you're not familiar, the Erin Condren Life Planner is an A5 size planner (7" by 9") and is a thick planner. For me, this type of planner is not convenient for every day use so this planner stays at home on my desk and is used mostly for my creative side, not functionality. This brings me to my personal size planner, I use a Kate Spade Wellesley planner which can be bought at the Kate Spade Outlet stores (these outlets will ship to you so call around if you don't live close to one and are interested). Currently as pictured above I am using the red version which was re-released this Summer, and I also have a black version which is always in stock.

DIY IKEA Kitchen Shelf

It is finally complete! I have been working on decorating this bad boy for a few weeks now and I'm in love! Thanks to my dear husband we were able to turn this cheap IKEA shelving unit into an adorable farmhouse style kitchen shelf pretty easily. See below for our step by step!    This is the IKEA Mulig Shelving Unit which is $59.99 for the largest size. This measures 47 1/4x13 3/8x63 3/4 "    We purchased a 3/4" piece of plywood at Home Depot in which we got cut in store for each shelf. These measure 46 1/2" by 13"    Also at a Home Depot we purchased a tube of Loctite Power Grip and a small can of Golden Pecan stain . This stain matches a few other items in our house so they would all look cohesive.    Once home, let the staining begin.      After one coat of stain was dry we used the Loctite to place the plywood on the shelves. We used sand bags to weigh down e
