FOTD! June 23, 2014

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and hopefully your week will be great and fly by! We're close to July, which is crazy, and I'm ready for a Summer vacation week! This morning I sure was sleepy, so my makeup was pretty simple, but I'm still excited to share with you all my choices for the day. Let's get into it.

I rediscovered my Rimmel Stay Matte Mousse foundation. This stuff really is impressive for the price, and I'm happy I pulled it out again. Sticking to the same brand, this foundation paired with the Stay Matte Powder is an extra impressive duo! My shine doesn't stand a chance! I also used the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Brightener (which isn't pictured) under the eyes just for that extra punch.

My obsession with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit hasn't faded any, so I used Fawn for my contour, and Banana for setting my under eye concealer. MAC Peaches has also been an obsession and my easy go to for every day, so he had to make an appearance today.

My eyebrows today are the Anastasia Brow Duo in Auburn. With the Maybelline Fit Me concealer for clean up. Also, the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel for setting.

MAC Painterly is permanent for every day! Nothing seems to compare for me. I pulled out the Anastasia Lavish palette for a very simple eye look. I used Orange Soda to deepen the crease, and cream as a highlight. Simple and easy! And to finish it all off, Covergirl a Clump Crusher for the lashes.

The end! What did you all wear today?

Blogtober Day 24! DIY Remove Black Stains from Hardwood Floors

This blog is coming to you by accident, of course. I don't know if I've mentioned it much on this blog, but I have two pitbulls. I know, a lot to handle, and one of them is a puppy. She is horrible sometimes, but I can't help but love her. Our whole house is hardwood floors, which I love! With my two dogs, if the happen to have an accident it's really easy to clean up...or so I thought.  We have had a large living room rug down for about 6 months now. Over the weekend we decided to take it outside and air it out and do a little "Fall Cleaning". Low and behold underneath the rug were huge dark black spots on the hardwood. I immediately jumped on Pinterest to see what to do. It turns out dogs urine causes the wood to turn black (who knew?). So I found a solution that I'm really excited to share with you.  Peroxide! Awesome, I had plenty on hand and immediately started to try it out. At first I used a paint brush to apply it to the specific areas.  Almo...

Personal Planner Setup

I have been using a planner for as long as I can remember. My little OCD self needs something to keep me grounded and on track. About 3 years ago I discovered Erin Condren as well as the planner community on social media (if you are a planner person check them out, it is such a positive and supportive group of people). If you're not familiar, the Erin Condren Life Planner is an A5 size planner (7" by 9") and is a thick planner. For me, this type of planner is not convenient for every day use so this planner stays at home on my desk and is used mostly for my creative side, not functionality. This brings me to my personal size planner, I use a Kate Spade Wellesley planner which can be bought at the Kate Spade Outlet stores (these outlets will ship to you so call around if you don't live close to one and are interested). Currently as pictured above I am using the red version which was re-released this Summer, and I also have a black version which is always in stock....

Why I'm No Longer Purchasing from Erin Condren

I'm fully aware that some people might not agree with me on this topic, but I really need to share my experiences with Erin Condren as well as my opinions on why I do not plan on purchasing from this brand any longer.  Customer Service Good customer service is what makes a company, and unfortunately that is NOT Erin Condren's top priority. My personal experience with the customer service has been half and half. The policies and responses to customers is never consistent which makes me believe they make do not have any rules and guidelines for dealing with customer issues. In my opinion a company should have guidelines for handling issues and complaints.  Quality Control I have placed a total of 25 orders with Erin Condren over the past 5 years. Within the last 2 years 4 out of 5 orders have arrived either incorrect, flawed, or completely wrong. Again, only in my opinion, the way that this company lets orders leave there facility tells me that they don't...
