Face of the Day! 01-11-14

It's been a minute since I've done a Face of the Day blog post. A few of my most grabbed for items have changed, so I decided to share them with you!

For my primer, my new Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. I have blog post about this product, so please check it out if interested.

My foundation choice was my Makeup Forever Mat Velvet + and my powder was Makeup Forever Duo Mat Powder. These two items are pretty pricey, but they really are worth it for the quality you get! My concealer choices haven't changed and that is Nars Radiant Creamy concealer for under my eyes and MAC Prolong Wear concealer for spots.

For contouring I chose my Tarte Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess from the Off the Cuff palette. As well as my blush, which was Crave, the far left shade. This palette was worth every cent for me! After contouring, I used my MAC Soft Sand Bronzer to lighten up the lines a little. As for highlighter, MAC Soft and Gentle has been my go to for a week or so now.

Now for my eyebrows, I tried my new Makeup Forever Aqua Brow in the shade Ash. Expect a review post about this product very soon. I did not picture this above, but I used my MAC Paint Pot in Painterly as my base, and then I went in with my Lorac Pro palette. I used Champagne for my lid, Light Brown in my crease, Mauve in my outer corner, and Cream for my highlight.

...and there we go. My Face of the Day for Saturday 01-10-14. I decided to Glam it Up! What did you wear today?

Blogtober Day 24! DIY Remove Black Stains from Hardwood Floors

This blog is coming to you by accident, of course. I don't know if I've mentioned it much on this blog, but I have two pitbulls. I know, a lot to handle, and one of them is a puppy. She is horrible sometimes, but I can't help but love her. Our whole house is hardwood floors, which I love! With my two dogs, if the happen to have an accident it's really easy to clean up...or so I thought.  We have had a large living room rug down for about 6 months now. Over the weekend we decided to take it outside and air it out and do a little "Fall Cleaning". Low and behold underneath the rug were huge dark black spots on the hardwood. I immediately jumped on Pinterest to see what to do. It turns out dogs urine causes the wood to turn black (who knew?). So I found a solution that I'm really excited to share with you.  Peroxide! Awesome, I had plenty on hand and immediately started to try it out. At first I used a paint brush to apply it to the specific areas.  Almo...

Personal Planner Setup

I have been using a planner for as long as I can remember. My little OCD self needs something to keep me grounded and on track. About 3 years ago I discovered Erin Condren as well as the planner community on social media (if you are a planner person check them out, it is such a positive and supportive group of people). If you're not familiar, the Erin Condren Life Planner is an A5 size planner (7" by 9") and is a thick planner. For me, this type of planner is not convenient for every day use so this planner stays at home on my desk and is used mostly for my creative side, not functionality. This brings me to my personal size planner, I use a Kate Spade Wellesley planner which can be bought at the Kate Spade Outlet stores (these outlets will ship to you so call around if you don't live close to one and are interested). Currently as pictured above I am using the red version which was re-released this Summer, and I also have a black version which is always in stock....

Why I'm No Longer Purchasing from Erin Condren

I'm fully aware that some people might not agree with me on this topic, but I really need to share my experiences with Erin Condren as well as my opinions on why I do not plan on purchasing from this brand any longer.  Customer Service Good customer service is what makes a company, and unfortunately that is NOT Erin Condren's top priority. My personal experience with the customer service has been half and half. The policies and responses to customers is never consistent which makes me believe they make do not have any rules and guidelines for dealing with customer issues. In my opinion a company should have guidelines for handling issues and complaints.  Quality Control I have placed a total of 25 orders with Erin Condren over the past 5 years. Within the last 2 years 4 out of 5 orders have arrived either incorrect, flawed, or completely wrong. Again, only in my opinion, the way that this company lets orders leave there facility tells me that they don't...
