Monday Questionnaire September 9, 2013

I am so excited for Fall! Am I the only one?

Before I started this blog I used Tumblr quite frequently and I used to love to follow Amarixe's blog with her Monday Questionnaire and every once in a while, I would post my answers on Tumblr. I really enjoyed doing it, so I'm going to borrow an old questionnaire from Amarixe and give it a shot! I would love to make this a weekly acurrance, please let me know if you'd like to keep seeing these!

1. Mood:
-Frazzled. I had to get up at 6 this morning to take my boyfriend to work. When I got home I couldn't go back to sleep and layer there for a while. I finally fell asleep with no alarm and woke up with just enough time to run out the door for work.

2. What are you looking forward to most today?
-Under the Dome! I love this show! Usually Mondays are the first day of my work week and knowing that I get to watch this when I get home, makes my day much easier! Sad right, I need a life!

3. Someone is bringing you breakfast in bed, what makes the tray perfect?
-Coffee! I can't function without coffee! Maybe a bagel and cream cheese? I'm not really a huge breakfast eater, I know that's bad, but I have to actually "wake up" before I eat.

4. Current nail polish:
-Essie Bold Gold. I don't know why I picked this color. I really don't like it that much! Not my best decision. I guess it will work for a couple of days.

5. Where do you keep your handbag when you are at home?
-The counter top beside my microwave. If I sit it on any other spot on the counter my cat makes it his bed and leaves white fur and scratch marks behind.

6. Current outfit:
-Luckily my dress code at work is pretty casual, because I was running late today. My jeans are Artist Jeans from American Eagle, my black t-shirt is from Target, as well as my purple cacoon cardigan, my shoes are also from Target from the Missoni collection that came out a few years ago. My necklace is from Forever 21 and my bracelet is Pandora. Nothing special, just love being able to wear jeans to work sometimes.

7. If you could try on any celebs hairstyle for a day, whose would you choose?
-Miley Cyrus. And I'm not talking her VMA hair do, that wasn't cute. I just wish I had the courage to go really short! It does look great on her.

8. Do you sleep with your bedroom door open or closed?
-Open. I have two dogs and a cat, and if my doors were ever closed I would never get any sleep because they are indecisive.

9. What is the last beauty product you finished?
-Well...yesterday I broke yesterday my MAC eyeshadow in Jest. Completely destroyed. So I guess we could say that, but my last beauty product I actually finished is my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. I have already repurchased, I can't live without it!

10. Weekly goals:
-Make it through my work week with a positive attitude, finish my new bench project, and get new tires!

Personal Planner Setup

I have been using a planner for as long as I can remember. My little OCD self needs something to keep me grounded and on track. About 3 years ago I discovered Erin Condren as well as the planner community on social media (if you are a planner person check them out, it is such a positive and supportive group of people). If you're not familiar, the Erin Condren Life Planner is an A5 size planner (7" by 9") and is a thick planner. For me, this type of planner is not convenient for every day use so this planner stays at home on my desk and is used mostly for my creative side, not functionality. This brings me to my personal size planner, I use a Kate Spade Wellesley planner which can be bought at the Kate Spade Outlet stores (these outlets will ship to you so call around if you don't live close to one and are interested). Currently as pictured above I am using the red version which was re-released this Summer, and I also have a black version which is always in stock....

Blogtober Day 24! DIY Remove Black Stains from Hardwood Floors

This blog is coming to you by accident, of course. I don't know if I've mentioned it much on this blog, but I have two pitbulls. I know, a lot to handle, and one of them is a puppy. She is horrible sometimes, but I can't help but love her. Our whole house is hardwood floors, which I love! With my two dogs, if the happen to have an accident it's really easy to clean up...or so I thought.  We have had a large living room rug down for about 6 months now. Over the weekend we decided to take it outside and air it out and do a little "Fall Cleaning". Low and behold underneath the rug were huge dark black spots on the hardwood. I immediately jumped on Pinterest to see what to do. It turns out dogs urine causes the wood to turn black (who knew?). So I found a solution that I'm really excited to share with you.  Peroxide! Awesome, I had plenty on hand and immediately started to try it out. At first I used a paint brush to apply it to the specific areas.  Almo...

DIY IKEA Kitchen Shelf

It is finally complete! I have been working on decorating this bad boy for a few weeks now and I'm in love! Thanks to my dear husband we were able to turn this cheap IKEA shelving unit into an adorable farmhouse style kitchen shelf pretty easily. See below for our step by step!    This is the IKEA Mulig Shelving Unit which is $59.99 for the largest size. This measures 47 1/4x13 3/8x63 3/4 "    We purchased a 3/4" piece of plywood at Home Depot in which we got cut in store for each shelf. These measure 46 1/2" by 13"    Also at a Home Depot we purchased a tube of Loctite Power Grip and a small can of Golden Pecan stain . This stain matches a few other items in our house so they would all look cohesive.    Once home, let the staining begin.      After one coat of stain was dry we used the Loctite to place the plywood on the shelves...
