Face of the Day!

Woohoo! A new post. I've been in a sort of funk lately where I've found my go to products, and I haven't been straying away. That comes with the fact that I like to sleep, and I don't have a whole lot of time in the mornings to rummage through my drawers and experiment. Luckily, I have put a few different items in my every day drawer, and it worked.

So starting from the bottom, my Maybelline Baby Skin does the job great! On top of that I've been using my Covevergirl 3 in 1 Outlast foundation. Everyone raved about this, and I think I just didn't give it enough love. I've really been liking it. For concealer, I have a new item to my collection, and that is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Brightener. Another product that is raved about and I've just never picked it up.

For powders, an old favorite is back in my possession and that is my NYX Stay Matte but not Flat powder. An oldie, but always a goody. For Bronzer, my tried and true MAC Soft Sand. Blush, I used Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Tipsy. And for my highlight, my newest go to is MAC Lightscapade.

So next is line are eyes! I always start withy eyelid primer, and as always that is my MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. Then on to brows, and again, as likely, my Anastasia Brow Wiz. For cleaning up my brows, I absolutely love my Benefit Boi-ing Concealer. And one more new item was my brow gel, and it is by Essence.

For eyeshadow, my lid color is almost always Stila Lotten. I then turned to my Lorac Pro palette, and quickly used Light Bronze in the crease and Garnet in the outer corner. My highlight was cream and inner corner was nude. My simple and go to look! My eyeliner choice was Stila Stay All Day liquid liner, as per usual. Mascara is always saved for last, and with no surprise, Maybelline The Rocket took the price.

What did you wear today?

Blogtober Day 24! DIY Remove Black Stains from Hardwood Floors

This blog is coming to you by accident, of course. I don't know if I've mentioned it much on this blog, but I have two pitbulls. I know, a lot to handle, and one of them is a puppy. She is horrible sometimes, but I can't help but love her. Our whole house is hardwood floors, which I love! With my two dogs, if the happen to have an accident it's really easy to clean up...or so I thought.  We have had a large living room rug down for about 6 months now. Over the weekend we decided to take it outside and air it out and do a little "Fall Cleaning". Low and behold underneath the rug were huge dark black spots on the hardwood. I immediately jumped on Pinterest to see what to do. It turns out dogs urine causes the wood to turn black (who knew?). So I found a solution that I'm really excited to share with you.  Peroxide! Awesome, I had plenty on hand and immediately started to try it out. At first I used a paint brush to apply it to the specific areas.  Almo...

Personal Planner Setup

I have been using a planner for as long as I can remember. My little OCD self needs something to keep me grounded and on track. About 3 years ago I discovered Erin Condren as well as the planner community on social media (if you are a planner person check them out, it is such a positive and supportive group of people). If you're not familiar, the Erin Condren Life Planner is an A5 size planner (7" by 9") and is a thick planner. For me, this type of planner is not convenient for every day use so this planner stays at home on my desk and is used mostly for my creative side, not functionality. This brings me to my personal size planner, I use a Kate Spade Wellesley planner which can be bought at the Kate Spade Outlet stores (these outlets will ship to you so call around if you don't live close to one and are interested). Currently as pictured above I am using the red version which was re-released this Summer, and I also have a black version which is always in stock....

Why I'm No Longer Purchasing from Erin Condren

I'm fully aware that some people might not agree with me on this topic, but I really need to share my experiences with Erin Condren as well as my opinions on why I do not plan on purchasing from this brand any longer.  Customer Service Good customer service is what makes a company, and unfortunately that is NOT Erin Condren's top priority. My personal experience with the customer service has been half and half. The policies and responses to customers is never consistent which makes me believe they make do not have any rules and guidelines for dealing with customer issues. In my opinion a company should have guidelines for handling issues and complaints.  Quality Control I have placed a total of 25 orders with Erin Condren over the past 5 years. Within the last 2 years 4 out of 5 orders have arrived either incorrect, flawed, or completely wrong. Again, only in my opinion, the way that this company lets orders leave there facility tells me that they don't...
