What did I get in my Ipsy bag? February 2014

First can I start off by saying, hello! It feels like forever since I've posted. It's been a crazy month here, and I'm sorry that I wasn't able to give you guys more posts, but I'm back bitches! (Pretty Little Liars, anyone else?)

February Ipsy was devoted to Valentine's Day. Which unfortunately I received my bag too late, but that's ok. Pink and red are still good any time of the year, at least in my opinion.

My favorite product is the City Color Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon. First can we just talk about how huge this product is? I don't think I could ever use this product up. The color pay off is really great quality, as well as flattering for a lot of different skin tones. I'm excited to see how this product wears.

Next is a Mally Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Liner in the shade in Starshine. This is a very pretty metallic silver eyeliner, and like all Mally, the quality is very good. This is not something I will get a lot of use out of, but still a great product.

We received a very cutely packaged Pop Color lipgloss in Peony Petal. This color is a darker pink/berry color. More Fall/Winter in my opinion, but very pretty.

Next is either my favorite or second favorite item, and it is a full size Zoya polish in the shade Odette. It's a darker purple shade, and right up my alley. I will be paintings nails this color tonight!

And lastly, is a pair of J. Cat eyelashes in EL66. These a cute, but I don't wear fake lashes, so I will probably be giving these away to a friend.

Overall, great bag this month. The nail polish alone made this worth the money. I'm always pretty satisfied with Ipsy and for $10, it's always just a little fun surprise every month.

Blogtober Day 24! DIY Remove Black Stains from Hardwood Floors

This blog is coming to you by accident, of course. I don't know if I've mentioned it much on this blog, but I have two pitbulls. I know, a lot to handle, and one of them is a puppy. She is horrible sometimes, but I can't help but love her. Our whole house is hardwood floors, which I love! With my two dogs, if the happen to have an accident it's really easy to clean up...or so I thought.  We have had a large living room rug down for about 6 months now. Over the weekend we decided to take it outside and air it out and do a little "Fall Cleaning". Low and behold underneath the rug were huge dark black spots on the hardwood. I immediately jumped on Pinterest to see what to do. It turns out dogs urine causes the wood to turn black (who knew?). So I found a solution that I'm really excited to share with you.  Peroxide! Awesome, I had plenty on hand and immediately started to try it out. At first I used a paint brush to apply it to the specific areas.  Almo...

Personal Planner Setup

I have been using a planner for as long as I can remember. My little OCD self needs something to keep me grounded and on track. About 3 years ago I discovered Erin Condren as well as the planner community on social media (if you are a planner person check them out, it is such a positive and supportive group of people). If you're not familiar, the Erin Condren Life Planner is an A5 size planner (7" by 9") and is a thick planner. For me, this type of planner is not convenient for every day use so this planner stays at home on my desk and is used mostly for my creative side, not functionality. This brings me to my personal size planner, I use a Kate Spade Wellesley planner which can be bought at the Kate Spade Outlet stores (these outlets will ship to you so call around if you don't live close to one and are interested). Currently as pictured above I am using the red version which was re-released this Summer, and I also have a black version which is always in stock....

Why I'm No Longer Purchasing from Erin Condren

I'm fully aware that some people might not agree with me on this topic, but I really need to share my experiences with Erin Condren as well as my opinions on why I do not plan on purchasing from this brand any longer.  Customer Service Good customer service is what makes a company, and unfortunately that is NOT Erin Condren's top priority. My personal experience with the customer service has been half and half. The policies and responses to customers is never consistent which makes me believe they make do not have any rules and guidelines for dealing with customer issues. In my opinion a company should have guidelines for handling issues and complaints.  Quality Control I have placed a total of 25 orders with Erin Condren over the past 5 years. Within the last 2 years 4 out of 5 orders have arrived either incorrect, flawed, or completely wrong. Again, only in my opinion, the way that this company lets orders leave there facility tells me that they don't...
