Top 20 Under $20

Who doesn't love some awesome beauty products that are a good deal? I'm going to say, hopefully no one! I've decided to raid my stash of makeup and pick the overall winners from the drugstore. I have to say, quite a lot of my holy grail products are from drugstore brands, and I want to let you all in on my little secret. So here we go!

My tool favorites, are by far Real Techniques brand. These two shown about are by far my most used, and definitely worth the small price tag. These two were two that have impressed me from the beginning, and there was no post about deals without mentioning these two bad boys.
-Powder Brush - $9.99 from Ulta
-Blush Brush - $8.00 from Ulta

Moving on to foundations, I really tried to narrow this down, but as you can see, I couldn't. Foundation is the product from the drugstore that impresses me. There are some brands that can disappoint, but here are four winners that have yet to do so.
- Loreal True Match -$7.99 from Target
-Covergirl 3 in 1 Outlast Foundation - $9.99 from Wal Mart.
-Loreal Magic Nude Liquid Foundation - Around $11.99 from Target
-Rimmel Stay Matte Mousse Foundation - $4.99 from Ulta

Some more face products I had to mention are concealers, blushes, and powders. I'm oily (is that a surprise to anyone?), and powder can't stay far. Of course, I forgot to picture my top choice, but I'm sure we could guess what that is. There is also another concealer which deserves a shout out, but I don't currently own it at the moment. Either way, it's been repurchased by me a few times, and it is an honorable mention.
-Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (not pictured) - $3.99 from Target
-Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette- $9.99 from Target
-Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso - $7 - 8 from Target or Walgreens
-Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - $3.99 from Target
-Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Brightener - $5.99 from Target

Moving on to eye products, this is another category that drugstore products almost always win! Mascara is my drugstore thing. I NEVER purchase high end mascaras, and I don't know if that day will ever come. Eyeshadow bases is another one that I might prefer my high end, but the drugstore products are almost just as good, and especially for the price difference. Here is the last category with an honorable mention since I currently don't own it, but it has been in my collection at least 10 times, and it definitely will again.
-Maybelline Color Tattoo in Inked in Pink - $6.99 from Ulta
-NYC Liquid Eyeliner - $2.74 from WalMart (what?!)
-Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara - $6.95 from WalMart
-Maybelline The Rocket (not pictured) - $5.99 from WalMart and Target
-Jordana Fabuline - $1.99 from Walgreens

Some extra face/eye products that needed to be mentioned...
-No 7 Beautifully Matte Make Up Base - $9.99 from Target
-Essence Clear Brow Gel - $2.99 from Ulta

And lastly is my one lonely lip product. You guys know I'm not big on lip products, but I do still have one stand out product.
-ELF Lip Exfoliator - $3 from Target

So there we go guys. I actually did better than I thought, and almost did 20 under $10! The Loreal foundation is worth that extra dollar or two. I'm always in the mood to save a little when ever I can, so do you have any other products I need to try out? If so, please let me know!

Blogtober Day 24! DIY Remove Black Stains from Hardwood Floors

This blog is coming to you by accident, of course. I don't know if I've mentioned it much on this blog, but I have two pitbulls. I know, a lot to handle, and one of them is a puppy. She is horrible sometimes, but I can't help but love her. Our whole house is hardwood floors, which I love! With my two dogs, if the happen to have an accident it's really easy to clean up...or so I thought.  We have had a large living room rug down for about 6 months now. Over the weekend we decided to take it outside and air it out and do a little "Fall Cleaning". Low and behold underneath the rug were huge dark black spots on the hardwood. I immediately jumped on Pinterest to see what to do. It turns out dogs urine causes the wood to turn black (who knew?). So I found a solution that I'm really excited to share with you.  Peroxide! Awesome, I had plenty on hand and immediately started to try it out. At first I used a paint brush to apply it to the specific areas.  Almo

Personal Planner Setup

I have been using a planner for as long as I can remember. My little OCD self needs something to keep me grounded and on track. About 3 years ago I discovered Erin Condren as well as the planner community on social media (if you are a planner person check them out, it is such a positive and supportive group of people). If you're not familiar, the Erin Condren Life Planner is an A5 size planner (7" by 9") and is a thick planner. For me, this type of planner is not convenient for every day use so this planner stays at home on my desk and is used mostly for my creative side, not functionality. This brings me to my personal size planner, I use a Kate Spade Wellesley planner which can be bought at the Kate Spade Outlet stores (these outlets will ship to you so call around if you don't live close to one and are interested). Currently as pictured above I am using the red version which was re-released this Summer, and I also have a black version which is always in stock.

DIY IKEA Kitchen Shelf

It is finally complete! I have been working on decorating this bad boy for a few weeks now and I'm in love! Thanks to my dear husband we were able to turn this cheap IKEA shelving unit into an adorable farmhouse style kitchen shelf pretty easily. See below for our step by step!    This is the IKEA Mulig Shelving Unit which is $59.99 for the largest size. This measures 47 1/4x13 3/8x63 3/4 "    We purchased a 3/4" piece of plywood at Home Depot in which we got cut in store for each shelf. These measure 46 1/2" by 13"    Also at a Home Depot we purchased a tube of Loctite Power Grip and a small can of Golden Pecan stain . This stain matches a few other items in our house so they would all look cohesive.    Once home, let the staining begin.      After one coat of stain was dry we used the Loctite to place the plywood on the shelves. We used sand bags to weigh down e
