FOTD! September 3, 2014

Another week, and another face of the day! I don't have anything cool or interesting to tell you guys, so let's go ahead and jump right in.

I haven't been wearing a primer the last few weeks, but while cleaning out my drawers I discovered a little left in my Hourglass Mineral Veil sample so I did use it today! I chose my Loreal True Match, which is very common for me! Also, my Rimmel Stay Matte powder which rarely ever goes far.

My bronzer hasn't changed and that is Java from the original Anastasia Contour Kit. My blush choice today was MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Redhead, which works as a blush and highlighter. I've really been trying to utilize my collection.

My eyebrows did change a little and I went back to the Anastasia Brow Wiz, which is so easy to apply. This is in the shade Auburn. I haven't changed my concealer for clean up which is the Maybelline Fit Me concealer. And my brow set is the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel.

I went with a different base today, and I pulled out the Lorac Behind the Scenes Primer which came with my Lorac Pro palettes. I also went in with my Lorac Pro 2 and used Rose, Nectar, Mocha, and Buff. For mascara, I'm finishing my sample of Too Faced Better Than Sex which is a good natural looking mascara.

I'm really hoping to get back in the swing of blogging more frequently, as well as utilizing my collection like I mentioned above. Stay tuned guys!

Blogtober Day 24! DIY Remove Black Stains from Hardwood Floors

This blog is coming to you by accident, of course. I don't know if I've mentioned it much on this blog, but I have two pitbulls. I know, a lot to handle, and one of them is a puppy. She is horrible sometimes, but I can't help but love her. Our whole house is hardwood floors, which I love! With my two dogs, if the happen to have an accident it's really easy to clean up...or so I thought.  We have had a large living room rug down for about 6 months now. Over the weekend we decided to take it outside and air it out and do a little "Fall Cleaning". Low and behold underneath the rug were huge dark black spots on the hardwood. I immediately jumped on Pinterest to see what to do. It turns out dogs urine causes the wood to turn black (who knew?). So I found a solution that I'm really excited to share with you.  Peroxide! Awesome, I had plenty on hand and immediately started to try it out. At first I used a paint brush to apply it to the specific areas.  Almo...

Personal Planner Setup

I have been using a planner for as long as I can remember. My little OCD self needs something to keep me grounded and on track. About 3 years ago I discovered Erin Condren as well as the planner community on social media (if you are a planner person check them out, it is such a positive and supportive group of people). If you're not familiar, the Erin Condren Life Planner is an A5 size planner (7" by 9") and is a thick planner. For me, this type of planner is not convenient for every day use so this planner stays at home on my desk and is used mostly for my creative side, not functionality. This brings me to my personal size planner, I use a Kate Spade Wellesley planner which can be bought at the Kate Spade Outlet stores (these outlets will ship to you so call around if you don't live close to one and are interested). Currently as pictured above I am using the red version which was re-released this Summer, and I also have a black version which is always in stock....

Why I'm No Longer Purchasing from Erin Condren

I'm fully aware that some people might not agree with me on this topic, but I really need to share my experiences with Erin Condren as well as my opinions on why I do not plan on purchasing from this brand any longer.  Customer Service Good customer service is what makes a company, and unfortunately that is NOT Erin Condren's top priority. My personal experience with the customer service has been half and half. The policies and responses to customers is never consistent which makes me believe they make do not have any rules and guidelines for dealing with customer issues. In my opinion a company should have guidelines for handling issues and complaints.  Quality Control I have placed a total of 25 orders with Erin Condren over the past 5 years. Within the last 2 years 4 out of 5 orders have arrived either incorrect, flawed, or completely wrong. Again, only in my opinion, the way that this company lets orders leave there facility tells me that they don't...
