My Project 10 Pan

Now as we all probably know I have a lot of makeup, and too be honest I'll probably never have enough in my opinion. There's just always something new and interesting coming out, that in my mind, "I must try that!" That probably isn't true, but like I tell my boyfriend, "it's better then drugs right."

In my effort to try and "cut back" an to keep from buying unnecessary items, I'm going to do my version of a "Project 10 Pan". I haven't heard of anyone doing this in quite a while, when I first got interested in the beauty community it was pretty popular. For that reason, I'm going to do my own version.

My idea is that I'm only going to count products that I won't be repurchasing. If there is an item that is a staple for me, it is likely that I will use it up. I want to do this as an opportunity for me to use products I don't always grab for. Of course, the item itself will meed to be repurchased, but if the particular brand hasn't been touched in a while, I won't be repurchasing that specific product. Also, I will not be counting sample sized items, since this is something I use up pretty frequently (I feel like that is cheating). This is my version of shopping my collection. The best part of this for me is that in the process of the project, I will not be buying any new products. I obviously don't need anything new if I'm shopping my collection, right?! I know I'll save a ton!

I'm really excited about this (maybe a little too excited)! This weekend, my boyfriend and I are going on a little getaway and I figured this would be the perfect start of the project. I plan on packing a few different items then I'm used to using. When you don't have access to everything, you have no other choice but to try new things. I plan on doing a post of the items I bring with me!

I have a few items I know I'm going to reach for:
-Elf Mineral Infused Face Primer
-Benefit Boing Concealer
-Anastasia Brow Duo

...and those are a few I have on my list at the moment. I would love to do updates along the way if anyone is interested!

Blogtober Day 24! DIY Remove Black Stains from Hardwood Floors

This blog is coming to you by accident, of course. I don't know if I've mentioned it much on this blog, but I have two pitbulls. I know, a lot to handle, and one of them is a puppy. She is horrible sometimes, but I can't help but love her. Our whole house is hardwood floors, which I love! With my two dogs, if the happen to have an accident it's really easy to clean up...or so I thought.  We have had a large living room rug down for about 6 months now. Over the weekend we decided to take it outside and air it out and do a little "Fall Cleaning". Low and behold underneath the rug were huge dark black spots on the hardwood. I immediately jumped on Pinterest to see what to do. It turns out dogs urine causes the wood to turn black (who knew?). So I found a solution that I'm really excited to share with you.  Peroxide! Awesome, I had plenty on hand and immediately started to try it out. At first I used a paint brush to apply it to the specific areas.  Almo...

Personal Planner Setup

I have been using a planner for as long as I can remember. My little OCD self needs something to keep me grounded and on track. About 3 years ago I discovered Erin Condren as well as the planner community on social media (if you are a planner person check them out, it is such a positive and supportive group of people). If you're not familiar, the Erin Condren Life Planner is an A5 size planner (7" by 9") and is a thick planner. For me, this type of planner is not convenient for every day use so this planner stays at home on my desk and is used mostly for my creative side, not functionality. This brings me to my personal size planner, I use a Kate Spade Wellesley planner which can be bought at the Kate Spade Outlet stores (these outlets will ship to you so call around if you don't live close to one and are interested). Currently as pictured above I am using the red version which was re-released this Summer, and I also have a black version which is always in stock....

Why I'm No Longer Purchasing from Erin Condren

I'm fully aware that some people might not agree with me on this topic, but I really need to share my experiences with Erin Condren as well as my opinions on why I do not plan on purchasing from this brand any longer.  Customer Service Good customer service is what makes a company, and unfortunately that is NOT Erin Condren's top priority. My personal experience with the customer service has been half and half. The policies and responses to customers is never consistent which makes me believe they make do not have any rules and guidelines for dealing with customer issues. In my opinion a company should have guidelines for handling issues and complaints.  Quality Control I have placed a total of 25 orders with Erin Condren over the past 5 years. Within the last 2 years 4 out of 5 orders have arrived either incorrect, flawed, or completely wrong. Again, only in my opinion, the way that this company lets orders leave there facility tells me that they don't...
